The representatives from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), members of civil society organizations and local public authorities, as well as representatives of local firefighters and rescuers from 7 localities in the Republic of Moldova, have learned to manage volunteer rescue teams in emergency situations. On June 21 the delegates participated in the training session on “Volunteer Management in Civil Protection”.
The purpose of the training is to contribute to the development of managerial skills of team leaders in their work with volunteers, as well as to strengthen teamwork capabilities.
The need for such training comes in the context of the oppening of volunteer posts by General Inspectorate of Emergency Service and their need to learn how to manage and work with volunteers in general, as well to learn the techniques of working with the volunteers and the correct distribution of the roles in the team, to identify opportunities for recruitment and motivation volunteer-rescuers, and to acquire mediation and / or conflict resolution skills.
The activity takes place in the framework of the project “ProVoice – Promoting Volunteering in Civil Protection”, implemented in Moldova (by AO EcoContact), Ukraine and Belarus, in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross, Bulgarian Red Cross, Denmark Red Cross and University of Innsbruck, and funded by EU and ADA.
We would like to remind that in the village of Lozova (Straseni) there was inaugurated a unit of firemen and rescuers – volunteers, which was equipped with the fire intervention instrumentation, through the same project, with the technical support of AO EcoContact.
